Watched Franklyn today!
看了这部Franklyn 《富兰克林》！
I’ve been wanting to watch this film since I saw this one clip on YouTube of Eva Green, in character as Emilia, going like “Little too much?” I literally had that quote written all over my notebooks back in middle school, and I’m so glad I finally got around to watching this!
我从初中在油管上看到了一个这部电影的片段就一直很想看这部电影！那个片段里面我的伊娃格林饰演的Emilia说了一句：“Little too much?” 我初中的时候真的每一本笔记本上都有这句话！终于找到时间看这部了我好感动！
Because… This film is literally so my style!!! I love dark and suspenseful and also hard to understand type films!! Gothic styled film are forever my thing! And also, Eva Green is so pretty in this film she is literally a goddess!!!
因为…… 这部剧真的是我的菜啊啊啊好喜欢这种又黑暗又烧脑而且还有点悬疑的电影！哥特风真的是我永远的心头最爱！还有我的绿娃真的好美好美啊啊啊啊这个女人太绝了！！
OK, now, on to plot. Plot is one of the biggest selling point so this film. The four stories from four worlds are all interesting, and the last scene, where they all come connected, seriously shook me!!! It was so good!! The last scene is literally top notch screenwriting!!! (I saw a comment on the film that said the film would have probably done better as a novel, which I also agree, because a lot of the time transformations would have been more easily done in a book, but I still think the movie was great as well!) Whether it was the foreshadowing or the side stories, everything was done super well.
先从剧情来说，这部剧的剧情真的是一大亮点之一。四个世界的每一个故事都很有趣，而且在最后一幕连接到一起真的惊到我了！最后一幕真的完全是神仙剧情！（我看到一句点评说这部片子的剧情可能更适合小说，这一点我也同意，因为很多时间转换在小说里面会更容易解释。但是我觉得拍成电影也还是很惊艳的感觉！）无论是前后呼应还是辅线都做得很好。
Character-wise, I think the characters were all meaningful. Whether it was the masochist Emilia, the romantic Milo, the “lost in his own world” Preest, or the father looking for his son Peter, they were all very characteristically separate and unique, and interesting too. Of course, as a 5 year fan of Eva Green, this character is so amazing for her, crazy with a bit of macabre grace. The characters all meet obstacles they don’t foresee, and the audience is just as shocked as they are, which is why I think this script was amazing.
从角色来讲，我觉得每一个角色都很有深度。无论是沉迷自虐的Emilia，浪漫主义者Milo，沉浸在自己世界里的Preest，还是寻找儿子的Peter，他们都有自己的特点也都有自己有趣的地方。当然，作为我绿娃5年老粉，只能说这一部她的角色太适合她的感觉了，疯狂又带一点优雅。每一个角色都遇到了想不到的苦难，这也是更让我惊艳的一个地方。
Not much to say about the actors, they are all amazing names in the industry. (Besides my favourite Eva Green, there was also Ryan Phillipe, who is currently working with my Kristen Wiig, and also Diaval from Maleficent, Sam Riley.) And there were a lot of actors playing double characters (like Eva), and they did that extremely well, too!
演员们没话说，都是超级厉害的戏骨（除了我绿娃以外还有现在在跟我wiig合作的Ryan Phillipe以及《沉睡魔咒》里面饰演Diaval的Sam Riley）而且各种双重角色（我娃就有两个）做的真的超级好！
But this film, as much as I liked it, had a couple of obvious flaws, which is why I think it didn’t make it into pop culture fanatic society. For example, that one part where Sally disappears at the end, the special effects there seriously hurt my heart, it felt like they spent about 5 dollars on that special effect. And the ending with Emilia and Milo’s storyline, it was sort of out of the blue (even though there was a little, a tiny bit, of foreshadowing), and it was cliche, too, and felt out of place with the overall film. Of course, the biggest flaw of the film is probably that the beginning (first 30 minutes or so) was super hard to understand and slightly boring because of that, and the four storylines cutting here and there just made it very hard to understand. If it wasn’t for my love for Eva Green I doubt I would have watched until the end, where the actual beauty of the film began to shine through. So if you want to watch this film, know that it is hard to understand at first, but if you get through the first part, the ending is totally worth the confusion!!
但是这部电影还有几个很明显的瑕疵，也是我认为为什么它没有达到超神的地位。比如说最后Sally消失的特效真的是尴尬到我了，感觉就是5毛钱特效。还有最后Emilia还有Milo的故事线，莫名其妙的（虽然前面有铺垫）觉得很普通，没有很有特写，跟前面的剧情不搭。当然，最大的问题可能就是一开始看这部电影可能会觉得很无聊很难懂，因为一开始（前面半小时吧）是真的非常难懂，四条主线切来切去，极其不容易理解。要不是对我伊娃格林的爱支撑着我看完了前面一部分，我想我也不会坚持看到后面惊艳到我的部分。所以想要看这部的一定要知道虽然前面可能很难懂，但是后面一切都会好起来的！
Finally, I just want to say, the influence of parents on a child is so impactful. All four of these main characters seem to be, in some ways, fighting their childhoods. It reminded me of a sentence I read somewhere once: “Some people use their lives to heal their childhood scars, while others use their childhood memories to get through life.” I don’t want to say much here, but I sincerely hope that everyone who is reading this can live their lives to the fullest.
最后我想说，父母对孩子的影响真的太大了。四位主角每一位都似乎在跟自己的童年作斗争，这也让我想起了一句话：“有些人用童年治愈一生，有些人用一生治愈童年”。没有别的想说的，就希望看到这里的所有人接下来的日子里都可以好好生活吧
